New recipes: usually a hit or miss

New recipes: usually a hit or miss

Trying a new recipe is risky, but it can be worth it.

I get really sick of cooking the same things over and over, yet it is so hard to come up with new things to try. I have dozens of cookbooks and the Internet is a great source for recipes, so why do I feel like this? The reason that I feel like this is because I get scared to try new things. Yes, I want something different, but my family doesn’t always like new things. My children are very picky, and I personally do not like trying a new recipe when it turns out bad. There have been many times when I try something new and it turns out bad. To me this is a waste of time and money, but it is also necessary in order to find new dinner items to try.

This boils down to these facts. Do you stick with making the same things over and over or do you take a risk and try something new? If you want new things to eat, you will have to try new recipes. From my experience, out of every 10 things I try, only one of them are outstanding. About 6 or 7 of them are good and the other few are just plain bad.

The nice part is that I do find some great recipes using this method, but there is another method to try for this. Ask your friends to share some of their best recipes with you. This is a great way to try new things, yet have an idea of what they are like before you try them for yourself.
