Experimenting helps you learn

Don't be afraid to try new things while you are cooking.

Learning how to cook is something that takes time with most people. I have learned over the years that the best way to learn is by experimenting. Experimenting in the kitchen may be hard for you because you do not know where to begin, but if you start small you will be able to learn a lot.Over the years, my cooking has gotten better and it is simply because I have tried and tried. I would take recipes and try them out, and if they didn’t turn out good, I would try different ones. I also learned how to improvise as I was cooking. It seemed like I would learn a new concept and I would use that concept in other things I was making. Soon I started to make things without recipes. This was simply because I started to understand how cooking works.

When I first started cooking, I would not divert from a recipe. I followed every recipe exactly how it was written, but over the years I have learned that this is not always the best way to handle cooking. It is often better to start with a recipe and then to improvise. Take the things you already know about cooking and use those in the recipes you choose.

Before long, you will start understanding how all of this works. You can begin using new spices to make the things you make taste even better. Using spices is also a good way to find new tastes in the foods that you make.
