Here are some simple tips for healthier eating.

It can be very hard to provide healthy meals and snacks to your family. Life is busy and there are so many processed foods that you can buy. These foods are easy to make and they are fast. The problem is though that they are not healthy. Here are a few tips to help you and your family eat healthier.

  1. Increase the Vegetables: Fresh vegetables are one of the best things that you can eat. They are good for you and your children need the vitamins and minerals found in most of them. Start serving more fresh vegetables with your meals. Cut back on frozen or canned vegetables and replace some of the meats you eat with fresh vegetables.
  2. Serve Healthy Snacks: If you want your children to stop eating junk food, limit the food that you have in your home. Stop purchasing pre-packaged snacks and start buying healthy snacks. Have small boxes of raisins for them to eat or fresh fruits. Have chopped, fresh vegetables on hand all the time and serve them with low-fat dip. Yogurt is also a great snack to eat, and there are many other items you can buy to promote healthier eating.
  3. Cut Back on Butter: If you cook with butter, start replacing it with olive oil if possible. If you are going to sauté chicken, by using olive oil you will be offering a healthier dinner to your family.
  4. Change the Drinks you Consume: Stop drinking any type of soda and drink more water. This is one of the best things you can do to promote healthier eating habits.
