Easy Taco Salad

Easy Taco Salad

Taco salad is a great addition to an outdoor barbecue.

If you are attending a summer picnic or get-together this year, here is a salad that is easy to make and tastes great. I like to add additional things to it to make it even tastier. I made this over the Mother’s Day weekend and everyone seemed to really enjoy it. It went well with grilled burgers and hot dogs.

These are the ingredients you will need:

  • 1 head of lettuce
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 large bottle of red dressing
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 c. cheddar cheese
  • 1 bag of nacho chips

To make this simple and tasty taco salad, fry the ground beef thoroughly. When it is done completely and is no longer pink, drain the grease from it very well. Place it in a bowl and refrigerate. It is best to do this the day before the event that you are bringing this to.

Next, you will need to chop the lettuce. Chop it into relatively small pieces and place it in a large bowl. This recipe makes a really large bowl of this salad. Chop the tomatoes into bite size pieces and add those. You can then add the cheese and meat and mix everything together really well.

Just before serving the dish, add the bottle of red dressing and crush the nacho chips. Mix it all together well and that is all there is to it.

I added a can of black beans too. I drained them first and rinsed them before adding them. I also threw in chopped green pepper. If you want to, you can add one can of drained whole-kernel corn as well.
